The SQTP file records (lines of text) conform to Intel® HEX file format. Intel HEX consists of lines of ASCII text that are separated by line feed or carriage return characters, or both. The binary numbers may represent data, memory addresses, or other values, depending on their position in the line, and the type and length of the line. Typically also your toolchain will generate an object code file that contains not only the code/data, but also symbolic and debug information for use by a debugger.

These will come in handy while configuring the Klipper firmware. RepRap, Marlin, and Klipper are all very popular choices when it comes to choosing a firmware for your 3D printer. However, the three of them differ fairly from each other, so let’s dive into the differences and see which one comes out on top. Connect your computer/laptop to your 3D printer using the USB connector that fits your machine.

The latter because with a printer with third-party firmware but no configuration file, I had to start from scratch determining what configuration options I had to use. Klipper is a free and open-source 3D printer stock ROMs firmware that runs using your printer’s controller board and an external processing unit, usually a Raspberry Pi board. It’s maintained by Kevin O Connor on GitHub but has contributions from several other developers.
